Even if it had been a swastika (which it was not) everyone deserves a second chance after choosing what was perhaps an inappropriate avatar for AB.

However I thought that Gravatar issued them and they have a suitability classification on them which one has to adhere to?

I have seen some avatars that have made me cringe but have accepted that that is life - live and let live

And there seems to be a lot of cat (and dog) lovers. Not everybody loves cats - if people complain about our avatars are we going to become avatar-less?

AB has the right to control the content of our avatars but, if the situation is as TTT states, give YMB his avatars back.

Danny, YMB had a slightly less than complimentary to the EU, Avatar. I had one in the past but the ED asked me to change it rather than banned me from having one at all.

You may recall AOG, that the classification at Gravitar is self set. You opt to say what you think the classification should be.

I didn't see the avatar in question as far as I can recall, but surely less than complimentary to the EU ought to be compulsory ? It's a national duty !

I confess I did post many months ago a, perhaps unsuitable, avatar. It was an EU flag in the background with a big cartoon middle finger. I had no problem with changing it, I offered and did; but to no avail. I raised an Editors blog - but no. I gave up I cant be bothered to play childish games.

It does appear that dissing the EU is punishable by no avatar for life!

Have you been told officially that you are banned from having an avatar?

If not could it be that the avatars that you have been trying to link to AB have been in the wrong format? I know that some of the avatars that I have stored on Gravatar never appear on AB - regardless of what I do.

I am not at all technically minded so I don't understand the why and how.

The problem is YMB that the EUphiles are very simlar to the anti British and as such find it incomprehensable that you don't have the "correct" opinion and are not waiting in line to boot lick Junkers and/or Rumpy. Looks like you touched a nerve with that avatar!

The middle finger gesture clearly breaks the sites' rules. So whinging about any sanction the ABEd has taken against you, because you cannot stick to the rules, is pointless.

..as is complaining about anything the Ab Editor's done whether you stuck to the rules or not. He can do what he likes. You have to hope he acts fairly, but there's no gurantee he will.
