We managed to get past St. Georges Day last year with no recognition whatsoever, so count your blessings!!!
Ed's way of seeking forgiveness for forgetting to remember St Andrews day I presume !! Just a guess .......!!
Ed doesn't usually forget Paddy's day :-)
Are you then suggesting that, because the (nominal) birthday of Jesus is 25th December, we should only have a Christmas logo on that date (and not before), Anne?
Question Author
no chris, that is not what I am suggesting :)
Poor chap can't win.
There's no pleasing some!
lol mamya :) x
I still think we should forget about Burns and celebrate Scotland's real greatest poet anyway. I refer, of course, to the wonderful William McGonagall. Who else could have penned gems such as this? ;-)

Any real respect would hav e given 'Saltirre'
Why do people celebrate Burns' birthday, no-one celebrates Shakespeare's and I can understand his poetry?
his birthday was supposed to be St George's day, wasn't it, craft? So it sort of gets swallowed up in the great wave of national celebration across England.
Lol jno....you make me laugh :-)
lol @jno
Have to agree with Chico. Google McGonagall and read his laments on the Tay Bridge disaster and the attempt on the life of Queen Victoria. If you are not in hysterics, then there is no poetry in your soul. The tragedy was that the poor guy took himself seriously as a national poet.
...he once walked all the way from Dundee to Balmoral to ask Queen Victoria to make him poet laureate. When he got there she was out.
