Has anyone else been getting that message? It's never happened before, but it's been happening all day today - and the black box that tells me my answer has been successfully posted has been staying on the screen for longer than usual.

It happens frequently with me naomi as does 'recover webpage'.
I haven't seen the "not responding" message but the "black box" delay has occurred on several occasions.
Question Author
hereIam, the 'recover webpage' message comes up a lot, but I've never had this one before.
In a way it's like recover webpage as if you click on it sometimes the recovering webpage message comes up!
It's been happening to me since the advent of adverts.
Nobody seems interested in fixing it.
Question Author
Strange that it should suddenly start happening.
I'm so used to them both now that I just accept it! It may be a 'one off' for you naomi ...
It happened all the time for me with the old site and then when we got the new one, it seemed to have vanished, BUT after a time it came back !!
Question Author
hereIam, I can hope.
Has it been doing that today?
the new site has been doing this to me for some weeks. as a user of an employer resource I have to use what's provided, eg IExplorer and I can't install an ad-blocker as I'm not an administrator. in the past week I've also found that clicking on the "last answer" shortcut in any question returns an "Error502 Bad Gateway", and clicking "send" from any written answer returns the same, but also sends multiple copies of the answer, spamming the thread.

as it is I've had to write this offline and cut 'n paste it, because if I tried to write an answer this long, the site crashes and I lose the text.
Question Author
AB Editor, it hasn't happened today - yet - but I've not been here much so it's difficult to tell if the problem still exists at the moment.

Mushroom, I end up with missing letters so I type any longish text in a Word document and copy and paste it into AB.
Naomi, I haven't had that message but as you may have gathered I couldn't use this site for several months as it just kept crashing.Suddenly, this week I'm back on albeit it's slow....
Question Author
ag, I noticed you weren't around - I actually mentioned your absence. I thought you'd abandoned us, but I'm very pleased you haven't.
Awww thanks Naomi.Good to be back! x
Question Author
Good to have you back. :o)
Naomi, you mention getting missing letters, I said the same thing in my post last night

This alone has taken me ages to type. Its awful now. Keeps sticking as well.
Question Author
nailit, try typing in a Word document and copying and pasting it.
Are all those with these problems using IE?
Question Author
I am, Jack, but this is something that's never occurred before. It seems ok at the moment though.
