The whole front page in News is filled with questions from yesterday and this morning, which means many from yesterday, which people are still actively responding to, will shortly disappear on to page 2, and hence, become abandoned.

If you were to make ‘Politics’ a main heading, such questions would be split between the two. I don’t think many post questions in sub-categories because few people look at them.

Just an idea to keep the discussions flowing.

Neither is Threasa May! ooh wait a minute... is she an ABer.

Maybe throw a 'Topic Warming Party' on Thursday - a few drinks and nibbles always brings folk in.
I'll bring a quiche. There has to be quiche.
and Prosecco.
Who shall we get to cut the ribbon?

I'll bring the red wine - if there's any left. Hic!
Talbot as he's already in there.
... playing their Deliverance' Banjos... I maybe Hungry Mamya but I'd rather not eat them.
Good point Zacs, hope he's dusted too.
There'll be music Ark but no Banjos.

## I just look in 'Latest Posts' to see what is currently being discussed, and click on any I am interested in. ##

Same here Eddie.

If the politics were as a main heading, they could also disappear on to page 2!
Actually it might not be a bad idea on a temporary basis ; given that multitudes of posts will be flying in on here, from the right , taunting the few lefties on here ; from early Friday morning , following a tory win .

We don't want the news section cluttered , with posts of the same nature
Question Author
trt , look at all the posts in News … and then imagine that half of them had been posted in another section….. it follows that if there are fewer threads being added to news those that are there would remain on the front page for a little longer.

I really don’t know why this is so difficult to understand.
The concept's not difficult to understand. We just have difficulty justifying it. A page is only 20 posts long so they wouldn't stay there for long anyway. You also assume that people will rush to use the politics section rather than news which is debatable. Very debatable.
Just looked at 'News' and over 80% of the questions are what I would call 'Politics' anyway. I still don't see how making politics a heading on it's own would make much if any difference.
As said by next week it will change anyway.
Question Author
Zacs, one or two seem to be having trouble understanding it - and several seem to think it's a valid idea. I would certainly use the politics section if it was more readily accessible...... but the decision is up to the people who make the decisions.
Indeed.

I know you don't.
