Dear All,

After 8 or 9 years (I honestly can't remember) of looking after, moderating and editing The AnswerBank in some capacity, I am moving on to pastures new.

I've enjoyed watching the site change over the years, from the frankly wild and lawless place I inherited to the fairly well-rounded site we have now (with a lot of silliness in between).

It has been a pleasure serving the community and I look forward to seeing how it grows and changes in the future. My last day of tyranny will be Friday 30th June.

Naturally, we're not leaving you Edless. In fact, the current Spare Editor will be stepping up to fill in my role (but you know, better). She will be taking up the AB Editor account and using that as their main form of communication with you, our dear readers.

The new Ed has lots of exciting things planned, and I am looking forward to enjoying them as a member.

Yes, I'll be signing up as a regular after I leave so I can check in on the usual troublemakers :)

I am sure there's something I've missed, so please feel free to ask questions below.

nah, go round and shoot them properly. No good leaving witnesses behind. In fact there's probably a case for suspending all ABers and inviting them to reapply for their positions. Fewer but better members, that should be the new Ed's aim.

As has been said why do you linger in an evironment that you seem to despise so much?

Retrocop was a persistent offender, he was suspended multiple times with good reason. Why you defend his actions is a mystery, much like your daft links to some singer I have never heard of in random threads.

G'evening exexting Ed....I refer to your posting at 14.50 today and am now assuming that you are afraid of Teresa May. So am I. In fact I am frightened by all females who are in positions of authority because ( I'll whisper this ) they are often far more capable than us supposed macho males. Having said that, I look forward to meeting your successor and hope she puts up with my 'nonsense' as you have done.
