Dear All,

After 8 or 9 years (I honestly can't remember) of looking after, moderating and editing The AnswerBank in some capacity, I am moving on to pastures new.

I've enjoyed watching the site change over the years, from the frankly wild and lawless place I inherited to the fairly well-rounded site we have now (with a lot of silliness in between).

It has been a pleasure serving the community and I look forward to seeing how it grows and changes in the future. My last day of tyranny will be Friday 30th June.

Naturally, we're not leaving you Edless. In fact, the current Spare Editor will be stepping up to fill in my role (but you know, better). She will be taking up the AB Editor account and using that as their main form of communication with you, our dear readers.

The new Ed has lots of exciting things planned, and I am looking forward to enjoying them as a member.

Yes, I'll be signing up as a regular after I leave so I can check in on the usual troublemakers :)

I am sure there's something I've missed, so please feel free to ask questions below.

Ed - if you check carefully you'll find hints about gness's shed. Take the initiation ceremonies very seriously and wear appropriate protective clothing. Thanks for all your work and help. :)

There is no need to worry about the shed......it's comfy and Tony is usually in there for company.....but...

What a generous old bean you are! I was expecting one vol au vent and a scalpel with a pint and box of straws for all ABers.

I await the splash through the letter box, I suspect the vol au vent will have a soggy bottom though :-(
