I have tried twice to enter a news thread, but they have never appeared, is there something wrong with my choice of news item or is it a technical fault?

Topics are often re-posted, especially when the original has disappeared from the front page and there's updated news. No point in adding to something that few will see. I can't see why anyone has a problem with that. It happens all the time.

One was a duplicate of someone else's (you even posted on it) and the other thread a thread about a removed thread which is against Site Rules, as you well know.
Dunno who took exception - but I saw your two threads before they were pulled and they had a nasty title and (more importantly) were a re-run of a thread from a couple of days ago, which you had already contributed to:

The news article might have been updated but the responses weren't.
I suppose even *that* applies to Brexit threads, but since Brexit isn't one-dimensional as a story, the repeated discussions on different aspects don't count as "duplicate".
In any case, I'm sure it was nothing personal -- just go and bump the original.

No it wasn't it was the same headline, because I thought that I had failed to press the button or something else. No mention whatsoever about my removed thread.
That is why I am now asking the question, addressed to the Spare-Ed.

Yes I have my answer more to do with the subject matter.
The other post was almost a week ago, and if ABers were bored with the story they needn't contribute, then if there were no replies then the thread could have been removed then for taking up space on the news thread, but then there have been plenty of those and they have been allowed to stay.
This site is slowly being ruined, it's got to a situation that one has to think more than twice, before contributing.
Even regular posters come on site now only very occasionally, sp1814, andy-hughes and Gromit to name just three regulars.
