Hi Ed, Some years ago you had The Sports Bar where ABers could make one to one contact privately.
There is a serious need for a similar facility, as some people cry out for a helping hand and those willing to help would be facilitated by something similar to the old Sports Bar.
Or is there another way?

Theland its easy. one of you creates a throwaway email address and posts it on here. The people use that email address to share real email addresses and then the creator destroys the throwaway email. To my knowledge, there has never been any Pm facility on AB and I have been around since 2002, before the sports bar was created. It degenerated into a nasty place.

I disagree. I do, however, think a personal message category would be useful, limited to one or two lines per post to avoid 'chat' or more. That would enable people to pass on email addresses, or direct others to particular threads.
