Good Afternoon Ed And Team,

I contacted you just before Christmas, but have not had a reply - please can you confirm that you received my message, and you will be responding?

Thanks.

But it will be ignored unfortunately.
I try not to get involved but sometimes coming on site is like walking into a room where someone has just admitted to sleeping with his sister in law.... The virtual atmosphere can be really unpleasant. I wonder if the naughty step should come back, a brief suspension of a couple of hours just to give people a chance to cool down. At the very least it would give other users a chance to move on to other areas , without being drawn further into taking sides of for the thread to develop normally. Closing posts just raises complaints of heavy handed moderation which would not have been the intent. It's good that Naomi tries to explain why, but it tends to spawn further posts.
\\ We're well aware of who the site troll is //
There's more than one unless this sites definition is different to most dictionary's.
I don't know who the troll is, nor how many.
Rowan, other than spam, I’ve only zapped about half a dozen posts - and only once, I think, have I indicated to the offender that carrying on in a similar vein will result in disappearance…. and it did.
Yes Naomi and you have the courtesy to let people know why and it's appreciated. Given reasons most of us are adults and can go ok then makes sense and move on. It does of course show up those that cant.
Indeed - and thank you.

WOW!
It's a difficult line between defending someone you see as a friend, and stepping across it . It's a real world situation that happens all the time but with the permanence of the printed word it can be perceived as worse. Also without tone or nuance it's far easier to misinterpret what is put down. I am not saying that is what happens every time but it's far easier for things to escalate when you are distanced from the others involved. It's easier to post something sometimes than say it to someone's face where you have to deal directly with their emotional responses.
where you have to deal directly with their emotional responses.

and who exactly are we talking about on AB?

Thank you, I look forward to it, since my next communication with you is absolutely not for the sight of the rest of the AB'ers.
PP, I don't think it helpful to get personal and name names.
Peter, my point is online posting separates you from the impact what you post may have. I really hate those who take the approach it's just pixels, because mostly apart from some of the spam there is a real person just one step removed... It makes it easier for people to be unkind if they are protected by anonymity.
Andy has some gossip for the ED !!
Poor andy has been very patient and, tbh, none of the other posts is going to get anything changed from AB's normal responses.

Perhaps it is time to close this thread?
'since my next communication with you is absolutely not for the sight of the rest of the AB'ers'

Gulp.

I think I'm going to make a takeover bid. Is the CEO around?
