Anyway I've checked my dictionary of slang and established that a 'sticky' is, of a person......Awkward & Uncooperative: and of circumstances,...Awkward & presenting great difficulty.

Therefore, and some what unfortunately, the Ed is in a real sticky mess on this one. :-)
