molecular weight of oxygen 32
moecular weight of carbon monoxide 28
28/32=0.875
Therefore carbon monoxide gas has 0.875 the density of oxygen gas at the same temperature and pressure.
Very interesting, jom but isn't air 80% NITROGEN?
The average molecular mass of air is about 28.9. That of Carbon Monoxide is indeed 28.0, making it very slightly lighter than air.

carbon monoxide is 97% the density of air.
