It's been so long!

It's been so long! How are you all

As you may have read in the blog I have unfortunately been off sick for the past few months I have in fact been recovering from a serious operation in hospital...not on maternity leave or in a mental institute as some of you suggested!..Thanks for that guys :o )

Some of you might be please to know I am now almost fully recovered and as of today back at AB Head Quarters full time, from the look of things it's time to get some serious moderation underway!

Firstly though I guess I owe you all an apology. I'm sorry you were not informed of the situation sooner I'm sure you can appreciate it's been a difficult past few months although I understand that�s no excuse.

Quite rightly so many of you have asked why no one else has picked up the moderating tasks in my absence

Well here�s the latest news- The AB Editorial Team have been divided there is simply an AB Editor � that would be me! As well as a separate department AB Asks, who will be working on individual AB projects. Hopefully you�ll notice an improvement over the next couple of week especially once I get my feet back under the table and get things going again.

Whilst I have been away there has been some moderation hence users have been unsuspended and posts removed etc as well as some emails answered. Sorry if you are still awaiting a reply, just to let you know I still have 500+ emails to pick up and reply to over the course of this afternoon so I�m sure you�ll receive an email soon!

I also want to let you know what�s happening with the beta version of AB, remember the new and improved version of AB with all the added functionality Seems like so long ago eh ! Ok so I�ll be honest with you�

The additional features were developed by two techies who clearly made a couple of errors which lead to numerous problems occurring, not only with AB itself but also as a result of these errors the new functionality such as the private messaging, avatars and friends lists etc simply quit working!

These techies are no longer working AB HQ and have moved onto other projects entirely by choice.

You maybe wondering what�s going to happen now Well this is the current situation. As it stands we are in the process of sourcing a new developer to head up the AB technical side of thing and rewrite the code for the additional functionality and generally implement some new features and improvements, as suggested by you guys�fear not we have them all safely stashed away and we�ll let you know about them before we simply go ahead and implement them!

So, now for the important question -When will this happen To be honest can�t give you a set date at this moment in time however when I know more I�ll be sure to let you know.

I hope that gives you all a bit more information as to where we�re at with the Editorial and Development side of things. Sorry again you were not informed of the situation sooner for future reference communication is clearly key from the start! I�ll keep you in the loop with any further developments.

Fingers crossed I�ll stay out of hospital and stay glued to AB moderating, exterminating trolls and generally keep an eye on things. If you have any questions relating to anything mentioned in this blog please feel free to post in my thread in the ChatterBank.
