The dancers were made up to look like Gene Kelly, but most shots have footage lifted from the film and matched to the bodies of the dancers.

sure they didn't regenerate Gene's face and then skin-graft it onto the dancer?

Read something about this...apparently they got a dancer who had a similar build to Gene Kelly, and mapped GK's face over the top digitally (similar to the fake Schwarzenegger sequence in the Running Man)

It's a dancer called David 'Elsewhere' who danced then the face was matted over the top - isn't it an awesome advert!?!? The full length one they play a bit later on at night is wicked.
