Uncomfortable?

The current Walkers Crisps ad leaves me feeling a little uncomfortable with the 'Queen' song "Who Wants to Live Forever"..... Freddy wrote this -knowing he was terminal. Walkers seem to think it appropriate for their product? Do you feel the same?

If it sells crisps I guess it is fine. However, I'm not a Freddie or Walkers fan.

"Who wants to live forever?" was written for the film Highlander which was released in March 1986.
Freddie was diagnosed as being HIV positive around Easter 1987.

It seems either spookily prophetic or poignant but that's because we have 20/20 hindsight.

Not even remotely. I just think it's a shame that one of the few decent songs Queen did is used in an advert. I'm afraid I think Queen are grossly overhyped.

I thought the choice of song was because, being as he has been dropped by Walkers, this must be Gary Lineker's last Walkers ad.

China Doll may think Queen were overhyped. I certainly don't think they were overated. They produced some excellent, varied and commercial stuff over a period of 20 years and they were superb live. I still get goosebumps thinking about a live concert I went to of theirs in around 1986. They had at least 20 top 10 singles and the vast majority of them are still familiar to most people. Don't Stop Me Now and We Will Rock you for example will be familiar to most people aged 12 -60.
