sending cv to jobcentre

next door neighbour has recently lost job so had to sign on at the local jobcentre, they now want her to send them her cv, she hasnt got one but they have given her their email addres for her to type one out and send it, she has asked me how to do this and i dont know, basically should she type it in wordpad and save it and email it that way or just do it as a normal email, i am really trying to help her so any hep would be appreciated

Make it as a simple list: start with name, address, phone and email at the top, centred and in bold.
Then do a sentnce to sum up yourself.
Then side headings followed by bullet points showing careeer history, qualifications, skills and interests. Good luck!

Yes, pushbabe1, your earlier post was about how should you send a CV to the job centre whereas this one is about how a friend should send a CV to the job centre, but in essence the questions are asking the same thing. I was reminding you that I thought we had fully answered your question last month.
I think if your CV is as badly worded as your replies here, you won't get many offers of work.
But to answer your question, you can always type your CV in a Word Document and copy and paste the same information into the body of the text of the e-mail itself, therefore the JobCentre can use whichever version suits them best.
As others have said, keep your CV brief too.

You say you have a CV on the computer. So create a new email and attach it.

factor30 Do you have Word or a similar package? Just type it on there and then attach the typed document as an attachment to your email.
Does that make sense? Do you need help with any part of that?

Davethedog Do it in word if you can.
Do a covering letter explaining why you want the job - Then do your CV if you google you will find examples you can copy (i.e duplicate)

sorry havent got a cv on my wordpad yet, so yes i now know i have to type that all out,then should save it in save as, but how do i attatch it to the email address to send it, thanx

daffy654 In your email program there will be a link that says attach file (click it), browse to where you have saved your CV and select it, then type a short message in the body of the email saying that you have attached your CV, click send after typing in the email address to send it to.

factor30 Have a try now to put your mind at ease. Create a very simple document with a few words in it . Write an email to yourself or someone you know and attach it. See if it arrives as a readable attachment

That should help out a lot. It is a tutorial for Outlook Express but all email programs are broadly similar and you should be able to work it to whatever your is.

Then I read it, followed each link, re-read it and realised that there are no useful instructions about how to type a CV and send it by email as an attachment.
Filled in the website response form in some detail.
Previous posts are better than the government website.

have just checked with friend and upto now she has not had an email from jobcentre saying her cv had arrived, so its quite possible that between us we managed to cock things up inspite of all the info we had (no ones perfect) but however she has printed a few off and sent a couple out to employers and will take one along on friday to jobcentre just incase.
