They were already reeling because the British public were laughing at their attempts to sell mains tap water from Thames Water in Sidcup costing .03p at 95p per half litre.
The tap water, which was pure, had undergone a "highly sophisticated purification process", which just reverse osmosis as used in domestic water purification units, then they'd added calcium chloride, containing bromide, for "taste profile"; then pumped ozone through it which oxidised the bromide into bromate.
No doubt they'll reintroduce it when they think we've forgotten about it since the yanks seem happy to pay a fortune to have Coca Cola bottle tap water for them.
