1969 First UK colour TV commercial, Bird's Eye Peas, 15 November

just in case you were wondering the first ever UK tv ad in b/w was for Gibbs SR toothpaste.
The Bird's Eye peas commercial was seen in the Midlands area, as advertising was (and still is) regionalised, one of the few regional aspects on ITV nowadays...

I bet it was slightly misleading to see grey peas being advertised on television in the 1950s and 1960s only to find that they were actually green in the shops!

Incidentally the very first radio commercial in 1973 and was on LBC was also for Bird's Eye. It was for fish fingers.
