Has anyone seen this ad that's been doing the rounds recently? It seems like a normal ad until right at the end. Then the voiceover says "...and for this weekend only, a free present for every pair of glasses." This is accompanied by a young woman wearing a pair of sunglasses with very large, differently-coloured lenses, with the frames seemingly held together in the middle with a wad of masking tape.

Is this an attempt at humour? Am I missing something blindingly obvious? Me no understand.

During the ad, each eye is arguing as to which sunglasses it wants (I want the aviators, no I want the diamonte frames, etc) and the outcome is that each eye gets its own style by sticking two different types of sunglasses together. And I think there's a special deal where you get a bonus gift if you buy some sunglasses. Supposed to be funny, but a bit lame really.

Ahhh, thanks for that. I guess it's just unfortunate synchronisation between words and pictures that makes it seem as if the wad of masking tape is the free gift.

Or maybe it's just me.
