Can't remember the title but I think it was the music of the Tokyo Olympics

To me .. it sounds like a Beatles Track .. forgot the title but the chorus goes .. " It's all because of you ... I'm feeling sad and blue ..........."  (But in Japanese) ... (the same tune was also covered by Slick Rick in the mid 80's.

Confused .... ya will be! ;0)

Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto
a bit more detail...
Ue O Muite Aruko (I Look Up When I Walk) in Japan, Sukiyaki in the West.
The music was by Hachidai Nakamura, and the lyrics by Rokusuke Ei, who is said to have written this movingly sad song of loneliness after his heart was broken by the actress Meiko Nakamura. The Japanese translation is much sadder than the English lyrics for the song in many covers.
It was released in Japan in 1961, and became a No. 1 in the US in 1963, ousting "It's my Party" from the top slot.
It's been covered over 60 times, from Acker Bilk to Bob Dylan to Styx to Taste of Honey (1981 I think).
From the number of times this question has been asked I guess it might be time for a re-release of the original
seeing this Q asked over and over again is driving me bonkers!!!!
Its a conspiracy to advertise 3 mobile!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a song calleds "Sukiyaki - Taste of Honey" it seems to be the english version of the song.
Very catchy song.
I believe Kenny Ball and his jazzmen brought out an instrumental version of this song, well, ,just before Kyo Sakamoto`s version was released. It was called "Midnight in Moscow"
Somebody mentioned the music as being the theme for the Tokyo Olympics. It was`nt that.I dont remember the exact title of the Olympics music but it was by a Greek guy,Helmut Zacharias.

Tokyo melody was the name of the Olympic theme tune in 1964.I got the guys nationality wrong, though his name right. He was apparently a German  violinist.:-)

Zacharias sounds Greek to me.;-)

I thought Elvis had sung it in one of his films, hope someone can answer this as i have a bet on with hubby that he sang it and in japanese lol

Bad news about the singer and writer Kyu Sakamoto - he died in Japans worst airline accident 10 years ago .

I reckon song will be No 1 by next week

and if you can't wait for the advert again
