Gesticulations
Is it just me or has people in adverts started gesticulating a lot more?
I've noticed it in quite a few adverts when one person is talking about a product there appears to be more hand movements and it often doesn't seem to fit with the way they are describing or discussing a product, Micheal Parkinson's (tacky) life insurance advert springs to mind.

TV advertising is still effective for those of a certain age - and it does have its place.
.... but not on my TV!
I don't know what the future of TV is, but it's likely to incorporate a on-demand netflix-style streaming option. For example, if the BBC replaced all their channels with one which gave you access to all their programmes via the iPlayer, O_G's dream of having something decent to watch may just happen (assuming part of the problem is scheduling).
4OD and the ITVplayer have ads - the are intrusive and stupid, but it might be the future.
That - or you'll subscribe individually. I'd pay for CH4 without ads (probably not ITV though).
