I thought this too, but then I thought that maybe it sed wen ur phone is on. Personally however, I think that Orange have made far better adverts than this such as the 'wrinkly ninja' ad and the 'try' ad.
It's post industrial service-led modernist irony.
Okay. One of the two adverts showing says when your phone is on(I think the New York blackout). The other when your phone is off(Renato the street cleaner). I'm confused about this also. So either they made a typo (seems unlikely) or somebody is taking the 'p'. Also, the narration at the end of the adverts are different and one of the narrations says the motto/slogan while the other says something else. That's all I can say about the matter.
Its advertising their product cus its on your telly box and view it with your eyes, and listen with ears.
What is the song in the background on the new york blackout one?
Sorry about that, i found it - joanna newsom.
The ads aren't selling any product or service. It's telling you about what their Brand stands for.

The Rio ad is reminder to everyone of the all the good things that you can now do as a result of having a mobile phone (rio specifically looks at how people can now be more spontanious).

The NY ad also recognises that mobiles do also have a time and a place in life. Mobiles aren't the be all and end of communications, more a compliment to other lovely ways of communicating (like talking or writting a letter).
