Where Does Bbc News Get Their Instrumental Music From?
5 Answers
I live outside the UK (Dublin, Ireland) so I'm referring to BBC World News because I have heard that it's broadcasted differently regionally vs internationally.
I've always been intrigued by the instrumentals music that's used during commercial breaks which crosses over with CNN International and CNBC Europe. I know a few of those artists, e.g Paul Mottram are on the audionetwork website the problem is Shazam can't find most of them so I can't look them up.
Here's an example of one.

However, I believe they still have a department called Music Workshop which has done masses of theme and incidental music used in BBC broadcasting of all kinds. The Dr.Who theme is one of the more famous ones. The advantage to the BBC is that they have the copyright of their own music. I venture that the music you are considering was produced by the BBC itself. To find out you could contact the BBC directly, if you can work your way through how to that is, they have a myriad of departments, points of contact, etc. but on the very few occasions I have wanted to contact them I found them very easy to communicate with.
