Loan Adverts

How many of you find these bloody loan adverts highly infuriating? They are driving me off my nut, it is starting to put me off watching TV because they are on morning,noon and night, especially that wally on the Picture the loan advert, wittering on about football and then wanting a �25k loan just like he was ordering a pizza! The yes car credit one intensly annoys as well!

I hate the Ocean Finance advert with the man who is trapped on a desert island. He looks so smug when he's rescued.

They are irresoponsible becase, as you say, they play up the ease of obtaining a loan, without encouraging people to consider the need to make repayments.

People with CCJ's are often individuals who have defaulted on loans previously, so the concept of lending money to someone who has already been proven unwilling or unable to repay a debt is immoral, and should be stopped.

And then you;ve got Carol Vorderman as well .... I'll have to stop now, the image of her waffling has made one of my 'heads' come on ......

Don't get me started on Carol Vorderman! That gets to me as well, they picked her because shes highly intelligent and has a mathematics degree so giving out the impression she knows exactly what shes talking about, not saying she doesn't, but its still a load of bull! Good news though, I just read in Car Mechanics that Yes Car Credit have been folded up by their parent Provident Personal Finance, so they're out the game, which means thats at least one bloody irritating advert away!

I agree 100% re famous personalities advertising loans. Im sure 95% of people who use firms like Ocean Finace are very desperate and an ad for the Citizens Advice Bureau would be much more useful. Anyone who advertises thes firms drops to zero in my estimation. We were once in a similar position and went to the CAB - they helped to sort us out and under no circumstances would I ever consider any loan sharks unless it was life or death.

Yeah that prat being filmed on the phone really deserves a slap - and also theres a sequel to this involving his mate next door !!
