Do any of you have a favourite advert? I have quite a few, one being the new lottery ad (love the song!) and the talk talk adverts (so clever). I also like one where a lady is being a toddler (can't remember what it's for - something about releasing your inner child!) I just love the bit where she runs up to the duck pond and throws all the bread in and then gives a stick to some poor man sitting on a park bench!

So..... what are your fave adverts and why?

My fav advert was the one where a car was made to look like a peugeot 206 by smashing an old white banger into the wall, then getting a elephant to sit on it.Then the driver posed through town looking well cool with himself.

I liked this advert because the bloke was so convinved he was cool that it was hilarious and made me laugh.

mine has to be the smash instant mash potato from a few years back...and the rubbery animals for electricpower

I agree with "geraniums" about the peugeot advert, I haven't seen that for so long!!

But for some reason my favourite two ads are

The one where the man is painting his fence with some gadget that does it quickly, it is just his laugh it tickles me and I can't stop laughing...and

the one where the little men run out dressed as tic-tacs. What self respecting man would do that!!! It cracks me up so much my mum is always like _

cant remember the name of the product,(baci chocolate of love, maybe) but it was the one where the bloke in the coffee shop was head over heals with one of his customers. every day she would buy a coffee and he would give her a chocolate for free.

then one day he didnt put a chocolate with the coffee, instead he put the "love message" that should have been in the wapper of the chocolate on the air con system and switched it on. the message drifted down on to her, she smiled and he got embarrased. classic !

I loved that honda advert from ages ago when all the parts of the cars touched each other and the stereo came on at the end - also the honda ad where the choir are imitating a car is soo good!!

i love the british gas blue flame ones-so cute!!

and the one where the woman throws a tantrum in the supermarket-cant remember what its for!

Not my all time favourite, but I do like that one where an actress plays a toddler. She obviously has studied children and their behaviour.

Heh, adverts have, of late, become the interesting part of tv. My favourite's would have to be Honda's range - all of them. Any advert by them is brilliant.

The advert for Kia with the masked chainsaw massacre type person was good as well, he loses a breathing hole in his mask at the end. Tic tac one's are cool too.

I remember from years ago a scotch video tape advert which featured a skeleton kind of rapping ( really badly) 'We pre record not fade away!' Anyway I loved it then but I suppose it was 1987 and i was 9lol
cant remember what advert was for but...the one with the couple who are in a kitchen putting things away but all their movements are a slow dance and they end up in a garden then walk up the road. Beautiful music to.
I just adore the yellow pages adverts ranging from J R Hartley (bless) to the recent brilliant ones with James Nesbitt.

Volvic. when the guy looks to have invented the wheel, but his invention was far more important

POLE DANCING !

The one that tickles me is the Domestos 5X longer with the little germ singing. Any advert that can sing "Im gonna give them diorrhea" very camply is a winner in my opinion!

It's interesting how people's tastes vary - a number of the adverts mentioned here, such as the Honda ones, the blue flame and the couple dancing in slow motion, make me cringe. I generally dislike ads that are up their own posterior and the Honda one with the choir falls firmly into that category - it's one that I make a point of not watching, it irritates me so much. [Going into old codger mode] Bring back the days when an ad was a jingle, a slogan and a couple of primary colours!

Anyway, to get back on topic - ads I do like. I agree about the Yellow Pages ones with Nesbitt, they're very good, especially the look on his face in the style advisors one. And I currently love the cereal ones with Windy Miller, they're very funny. I always enjoy that specs one where the boyfriend says "Your mum's nice" and the girl is all annoyed.
