Why can't DVDs start straight away without this root menu nonsense? Why can't the extras be on a seperate Disk? If we had adverts and other bits on a music CD would we bother buying?

I have a few that do, I think they are Universal films, but can't remember which ones.

I would like to be able to skip through all the logos and copyright notices, and just get on with it. Very few discs allow you to do this.

The menus are handy, you would appreciate them if you are deaf ( to access the subtitles ) or want to view the film in another language.
