Does any one know why some people post a question when the same question and asnswer is often a couple of posts below?

Well, it's not just that. When you post a question you are usually shown a number of prior posts which sound as though they deal with the same subject and, perhaps, answer your question! The people Jack is complaining about clearly can't even be bothered to check these messages.
