I am trying to establish the product advertised.
believe it was a beer advert in the 80s'
it's a stormy night and a fisherman in a dinghy battles the elements to get to the pub, part of the catch line is
'and i'm not looking forward to the journey home'
possibly in a westcountry accent.

any ideas its driving me crazy. everyonye I ask can say the phrase but has no idea what the product was.

thank-you

I've never known a night like and I'm not looking forward to the journey home neither was used in the advert for Fishermans Friend.
I remember this ad - it was an old guy in a rowing boat, wearing yellow sou' wester, battling against a really bad storm in a choppy sea. He moors the boat, gets out and goes into a pub where he orders a pint. He says "I've never known a night like it" drinks the beer and then says "and I'm not looking forward to the journey home neither!" The advert was for a brand of beer, but that's the bit I can't remember!!! I will work on it though and will post the answer when I get it!!
