Madeleine McCann
I think all advertising for holidays to Portugal should be banned. How can anyone trust a country whose police has handled this case in such a messy way? I would defiantly not be taking my family there again. I also think that rich personalities like Sir Cliff Richard who lives there should uproot and move to a country that would spend the tax that he pays on his vineyards etc. On a better police force.
I have also decided that because I have now got the hump with Sir Cliff Richard, I will try and sell all the records that I have him and send any money that I receive to Madeleine's fund. If I can't sell them I know just the place for them on the 5th November!

I'm afraid I'm with the others on this one ....
As has been stated, if you look hard enough at any holiday destination, and not necessarily scratch too deep beneath the surface, you'll almost certainly find the seedy underbelly of humanity only too willing and able to exploit those around them, be them their own countryman or tourists ....
Perhaps we should not be critical of Portugal, but of the parents of Madeleine who, let's not forget, left her alone in a less than secure hotel complex in a foreign country to go out for a meal, regardless of how close the restaurant was ... those of us who are parents are only too aware how amazingly quickly things can change for the worse when it involves young children, often due to the behaviour of others.
Also, wasn't this supposed to be a family holiday for them ... I can't think of anything more proposterous than to leave a child as the McCanns did .... if they didn't want their children with them, given the number of family members who are regularly paraded in the press and on television since Madeleine's disappearance, there surely wouldn't have been a shortage of volunteers to care for the children while the parents went partying !!
Let's not blame an entire country for the world's ills due to the behaviour of 2 visitors to that country !!

Stevie Thanks for your POV in which I agree with some of what you are saying however, please allow me make it clear. Im not blaming the entire country for this little girls disappearance that would be a brainless thought! I simply just dont agree with the majority of the other points of view and the lackadaisical answers on this discussion.
