The toy appears to be making the malteser float above it before the girl catches it in her mouth, like they do in the space capsule, How did they do this ?

Moving air has lower pressure than still air, so the malteser is sitting on a column of moving air, and being held in place by the still air around it. Another application of this principle is in the curve of aeroplane wings - because the air going over the wing is forced to travel further than the air going beneath (because of the curved shape of the wing), there is a difference in air pressure, which imparts "lift" to the wing and thus to the plane it's attached to.
