Does anyone know what the song is in the new BBC advert for Messiah? Contains the lyrics "close your eyes, go to sleep".

It's Tom Waits - Don't know title yet

It's called 'Lullaby', from Tom's album 'Blood Money'.

Interestingly, I've just been reading about him and it seems he usually refuses point blank to allow his music to be used in adverts. He once sued Audi (and won) because they used a song similar to one of his that he'd refused to allow them.

Just as an addendum....

Tom Waits is one of my son's favourite artists - all 4� years of him.

He heard the track "Underground" on the animation film 'Robots' and was so impressed when I played it ! ("Daddy's got the 'Robots' song etc.)

Now 'Swordfish Trombone' is rarely off the turntable.*

* - that's the thing we used to play records on, kids.
