There wasn't any particular company named in the adverts, just the slogans Cook Electric and Heat Electric.

thought it was Southern electric.

It was MEB (Midlands Electricity Board).

probably, as jenstar says, just advertising electricity in general and funded by a consortium of the electricity suppliers so the adverts were likely branded by the electricity board of the region they were being shown in.
