What phrase in ads irritates you the most? For me it is the term 'Clinically proven'. Such and such is 'clinically proven' to clear acne? In what kind of clinic? A Sexually Transmitted Diseases clinic, maybe?
I'm an Avon rep. I love their products, but I do wish they wouldn't advertise them with 'x% of women saw a visible difference'. What other type of difference might they see, then?
Most of those percentage figures don't come to whole numbers anyway. I saw one where it said something like "out of 212 people who tried it, 72% liked it". That makes 152.64 people! What did they do, ask a dwarf to try it?
"it covers up to 100% grey" annoys me. That includes everything from 0 to 100%. What else could it do...?!
Anadin used to use one saying, "Nothing works better than Anadin". Fair enough then, I'll take nothing then if it works better than Anadin.
In a similar vein, Ryvita used to say, "No crispbread has fewer calories than Ryvita". Well that's pretty obvious isn't it??. Nothing of anything will have fewer calories.
They may as well have said, "No chocolate cake has fewer calories than Ryvita.
