Dubbed ads!!!

Does anyone else find it annoying that large companies who are eager to flog us their products think we are so thick we will accept poorly dubbed adverts? How much can it cost to film a few english women cleaning or a few english kids eating yogurt etc?

I would guess you're talking about the Cillit Bang ads and the very dolly Scandinavian women doing the housework!

Not much, but work out the cost of filming every ad. with a native cast for all the territories these ads. play to, and you are taking serious money!

Simple answer - dialogue in the most prolific speaking territories - probably Spanish, and dub the rest - including English.

Maybe they should think about going for the comedy side of it and making the dubbing even worse.

It is of course a cost and time issue. To make and run an Ad campaign costs a fortune and to just overdub it is a very cheap and easy way for these companies to save themselves money. The fact that you can name some of these adverts proves that they have stuck in your mind whether they are good or bad! So job done for these companies!

Its all about cost already stated, if they can make 1 ad for all the countries who sell the product then get people to dub it then it will be cheap, dont let it get to you
