Builder's Quote - is it a bit too steep?

Hi guys,

I've recently got a quote from a local builder for the following:
-Boarding up a hole in a partition wall
-Installing 10 spotlights
-Installing a staircase balustrade (+ supplying spindles, a handrail, etc.)
-Sanding down Artex ceiling in one room (7 m x 3 m), plastering over
-Installing 2 curtain rails
-Moving the position of two power plugs
-Replacing two light switches
-Supplying and replacing a back kitchen door
-Removal of all renovation-related rubbish

This has come to just over £3000 and I was wondering if it's a good deal. What do you think?
My area is Surrey.

sounds like a fair bit of work there, especially the balustrade... but why don't you try posting this in Home and Garden? People only come to this section to ask about meerkats and stuff.
