treats, melt in your mouth not in your hand.
dont forget the fruitgums mum, all my pals like fruitgums mum,
3d buys a tube of fruitgums,
gums that last all day.................horrible hard things they were too
What about Nimble bread with the woman in a hot air balloon? And the fantastic Hamlet ads. And Denim (was it Denim)? "for the man who doesn`t have to try too hard"!
We didn't have a television when I was little, I was 14 before my father brought one home. He worked for the BBC so we didn't very often get to watch ATV (as it was then)!
The Hovis advert (it's a long way to go for a loaf of bread),
The Smash advert
Sir Bernard Miles for lion eggs and Mackeson - 'it looks good, it tastes good and by golly it does you good'

Rael Brook, Rael Brook the shirts for men .............(complete with dancing shirts and their tails)

Start your day with Halex - toothbrushes and combs

You'll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent

Fairy soap powder with Joan and Leslie Randall - a whole series but particularly I remember the time they visit an old Tea Shoppe and Leslie leaves a tip under the plate - a note to use Fairy for the table linen.
^The PG tips advert with the chimps moving the piano had the voice of Irene Handl as the householder calling 'coo ee Mr Shifter' - such memories
a finger of Fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat!
OOOh yes thanks Justin I'd forgotton the Coke advert I'd like to teach the world to sing (my little one used to sing it).
Coughs and sneezes spread diseases. Health information adverts.
I think they may have been in black and white. Or maybe we had a b+w television then.
Oh the Esso sign means happy motoring,
The Esso sign means happy motoring,
The Esso sign means happy motoring,
Call at the Esso sign,

Again, Esso - Put a tiger in your tank

Oldham batteries - 'I should've told 'em, Oldham'
Consulate cigarettes - 'Cool as a mountain stream'
A double diamond works wonders .....
We used to sing the Esso ad words to the tune of Toreador, but it doesn't fit:

Esso-o sign means happy motoring,
Esso-o sign means happy mote
Oring Esso signs means happy mote
Oring-Esso sign!

Mind you we also used to sing
Toreador
don't spit upon the floor
Use the spittoon,
That;' what it's for...

and other jolly ditties about health and hygiene.
^ Oops "that's..."
Esso - 'Happiness is a quick-starting car'

or possibly, in dot's case, taking your car battery inside for the night (:-))
