I would also like to know the title and the artist(s) on the track.It might well be the Belle Stars Iko Iko BUT I suspect 1982 may be a re-release date because I can remember this tune being very popular in the mid to late sixties. Can any one help?

The song was originally titled "Jockamo" and was a hit in the 50s for James Crawford, however over time it became known as "Iko Iko" and has been recorded by numerous artists such as The Dixie Cups, Grateful Dead, Warren Zevon, Cyndi Lauper, Aaron Carter & the aforementioned Belle Stars.  The version in the Persil ad does not sound like the Belle Stars to me - sorry I can't be of any further help!

I'm a big fan of her's and it is her version they use in the ad.  available on her album True Colors (1986) and Time After Time: The Best of Cyndi Lauper (2000).
