What is the title of the song featured in the simpsons episode where Homer Simpson goes to college for further training for his job. It is played briefly during the episode and then while the end credits roll.

This is a guess - as I remember the episode but not in great detail - could it be "Louie Louie" (by Richard Berry?) - the calssic US college song

It is indeed 'Louie Louie', written by Richard Berry and most brilliantly covered by The Kingsmen. As also featured in the film Animal House. In 1983, California radio station KFJC played all the versions of the song they could find, back to back. The marathon broadcast lasted for 63 hours. They played over 800 different versions of the song.
