Why oh why are there so many adverts in programmes now? It is getting ridiculous, in the X Factor tonight there was almost one per song!

Prime time TV is allowed 12 minutes of advertising per hour, most other shows get 9 minutes of advertising per hour. The rest of the time may be taken up with programme trailers, but ITV cannot show as many adverts as they want to create revenue.

there's about nine minutes of programmes between adverts I believe - and as to why, how else do you think they get the money to make and run these programmes?

I realise the adverts are the revenue, of course, but we seem to be getting as bad as American TV, more adverts than programme.
Perhaps they can't get the funds anywhere else!
tell me about it £145 a year for a tv licence, you should have a choice of a telly licence with adverts or without, but thats how they make there revenue..b******$ to that..pardon my french
sky is worse in between each programme, its an absolute joke

Thanks for your answers, I suppose we have to put up with it. It's so annoying as the trailers and adverts just go on and on ...
We record anything we want to watch on commercial channels and FF through the ads.
