I've just seen the morrisons advert where they say they give you a Christmas and new Years voucher and must save receipts

They said they done this last year, has anyone done this before, how exactly does it work and are any of the other supermarkets doing similar promotions?

Yes last year was similar. And a good deal if you shop at Morrisons often.

I've never shopped at Morrisons but this is certainly an incentive.
I had a look at the T&c's and they said: Excludes Cash Back, Tobacco, Saver Stamps, Gift Vouchers, Lottery Online Game & Instant Win Tickets, ‘Top up’ Mobile Phone Cards, E Top-up, Photo Printing, Prescription Medicines and purchases made within the Café and Petrol Filling Station. Purchases from Dry Cleaning and Pharmacy are also excluded.

But Alcohol can be brought as well as food obviously.

Yes, they did it last year. You save receipts and they give you money back in a voucher. I haven't seen the T&Cs yet, I must nip over the road and have a look! Other supermarkets don't do it - Tesco gives points anyway on their loyalty card and you can save them up instead.

Boxtops you must spend £40 per week in a single transaction for five weeks which adds to £200 pounds. I've a tesco pointcard. Which is the better deal £30 voucher from Morrisons after spending £200 or £200 worth of points from Tesco of which some may be doubled?

I did this last year as I shop there every week, so it was good for me. The only point I would say watch out for is your receipts must be from 5 different weeks, so no splitting your shopping into a couple of visits in one week to qualify. The receipts must be submitted in a special little paper booklet type thingy, they will not accept them otherwise and I know that last year after the first week or so, the booklets had all gone, so get one quick if you are thinking of doing it.

I'd be hard pressed to say, Micky - I split my shopping between Tesco and Morrisons and I tend to use my Tescos vouchers back in the store these days anyway. I don't always spend £40 in one shop so I'll probably stick with Tesco!

Tesco have just sent me three vouchers - each giving £6 off £30 spend.

We did the Morrisons offer last year and we were going to do it again this year and then this morning a mailshot came from Sainsbury's with 4 x £9.00 vouchers of a £60 spend so were heading there as you also get Nectar points.
Everybody seems to be responding to Morrisons

Morrisons seems to be a good deal and we did it last year, buying a bottle of xmas booze with each shop to make up the £40.
Worst offer seems to be Asda they give you a book of vouchers if you spend £40 or more, then you have to spend more money to use the vouchers which are taken in part payment.
