I wonder if I could have some opinions on my daughters 15 month old boxer dog?????......

They got the dog when it was 10 month old and he settled in ok. But just lately twice he has jumped up at someones face growling and looking like he is going to bit them. Then this afternoon my daugther was in the kitchen with the dog behind her, my four year old granddaughter just walked past him and he did the same thing. He didnt bit but left a small mark where one tooth must of caught her. Now they do not know if they should keep him or let him go. ? I have had dogs for years and have never had this trouble so nor sure if it is a boxer thing,?

Unfortunately the dog is controlling your family.

Find it another home with adults who can control it.

Agreed, it's never worth the risk when young children are involved. Best to rehome him with someone exerienced with dogs and has no kids.

I grew up with boxers, have had one myself and are my favourite dog however they take 2 years nearly to grow out of puppyhood and are naturally exxuberant and need firm training. That said they are normally very good with children. This one sounds like it needs some training and I personally wouldn't risk keeping it if I had a young child and it's done that twice.
Try to find a good home willing to take it on is my advice.

Where children are concerned I would never take a risk with a dog doing this.

I love dogs and do not think that any breed is more dangerous than any other - Jack Russells and Yorkies scare me a little but Rotties and GSD's don't.

If the dog is otherwise good natured you may be able to find a home where there are no children.

Good luck - I really feel for your daughter and her family, dogs (and evil cats) become part of the family very quickly.

Passing thought - why did its previous owners get rid of him?

Thankyou to all of you for your replies.The reason the other family got rid of him was because they had just had another baby,4th, and couldnt cope with him as well. Until this happened the last couple of weeks he has been fine. He is always good with me as far as going to putting his front paws on my chest and cuddling into me. He has never been of any worry to me. Could it be I am strict with him and make him sit down and be quite before I take any notice of him. I have told my daughter he is still a baby and has to have some training also get used to more people.

We always had boxers & they do make good pets, especially for children. BUT they are very exuberant & need to have good training. He needs to know that he does not rule the roost.
