Has anyone used a Halti or a Gentle leader on their dogs, if so which do you recommend. I've read up on both of them but keep getting conflicting advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Hi, what breed do you have? I have always used a Dogmatic, same as a Halti but does not ride up into the eyes.

Hi, she is a St Bernard 9 months old
Agree with you Lisa, a whippet or GSD would take to a Halti or a gentle leader etc but a snub nosed dog could have problems. My Border Terrier hates 'em but I think most terriers do
Should be no problem with a St Bernard and of the two a gentle leader might be better.
Dont know about a dogmatic myself but it sounds good
Oh wow....bet she's fun!!! I have Great Danes and have used a Dogmatic on my bitch when training her.....worked wonders! They are a little more expensive but more than worth the money.

There is also something called a Canny Collar which is more comfortable than a Halti.
I have had good results with a figure of eight slip on mine but they are weimaraner x gsp and have quite long muzzles. I am not at all impressed with the halti. When they were first produced, they were the only option but IMO have been superseded by better designs.
