My daughter has left her 2 cats with us while she goes on holiday. One has disappeared in the house somewhere the other has hidden behind the washing machine. My question is..she feeds them dry food would fresh fish or chicken tempt them out or will it upset them .Thankyou.

Aww, they are in unfamiliar surroundings and are scared so are hiding. No amount of fancy treats will tempt them out - if it does work you are lucky. Best to leave them to their own devices and they will come out to explore soon, they need some space and peace and quiet, how long do you have them for ?

15 days. They came yesterday that is why I am a little anxious.
You are bound to be anxious, but they will be fine, just leave them be and let them come out to see you...they will find their feet very soon...cats are naturally curious. Perhaps leave some bowls out filled with some tasty morsels in a quiet spot in the house so they can feel safe if they are hungry and not be disturbed.

Thank you Purple Popple, I have put the microwave on and they both appeared.
I hope they will be ok, they may have been better off left in their own surroundings with you popping round to feed them. I just worry about them escaping in unfamiliar territory. Fingers crossed they will be ok.

I thought this video was amusing, these little kittens are very very hungry and get more vocal by the minute.

Not sure if that link worked..
They'll come out when they're ready but just make sure they have water nearby which they'll probably drink while you're in bed. And whatever you do don't let them escape or you're in Big Trouble. Good Luck.

I told her to get a neighbour in as I had read on here before they are happier in their own home. We live 30 miles away and have no car. No way will these cats cross the doorstep. Thankyou for the link, I might count myself lucky. That one hanging on his trousers was very funny.
