How Do You Get Highlighter Pen Stain Off Kitten Fur

A close pal of mine has 2 little terrors who managed to stain thei white kitten with flourescent pink highlighter pen ink. Anybody got any ideas as to how to get this off. The stains are on three of the legs/paws and on large one on its side. Obviously I have told them to be careful what they use as the kitten will lick at the areas. Any ideas would be greatly received.

If the ink were water-based (unlikely) it would simply wash off. However, solvent-based inks would need a suitable solvent - I would try alcohol, perhaps vodka. Any other solvent could be harmful both by licking and inhaling.

I was a bit worried about using alcohol but i'll get her to give vodka a go. I told her not to use the other things as obviously they may be toxic.

This cheered me up - kittens look cute and innocent - but they are demonic little bundles of fur and energy. I bet they are gorgeous looking.

Lady-janine - tried that but it didn't work, I did mention the vodka and she asked how big a bottle!!!

This may be silly....but why not just trim off the stained fur? It WILL grow back... ;-)

Not silly pasta, kitten is only 9 weeks old and stain is down to skin so didn't want to expose skin at such a young age
