My 7 Month Old Pup is Driving me Crazy...

When I get visitors (family etc) She goes berserk and jumps up all the time and never stops.
Today when my Daughter and Son came she went crazy and even though I tried to control her she went mental.

If I put her in the kitchen when they are there she barks, howls cries, and if I put her in the garden she does the same, she will not settle down and after they leave she was shattered and slept for 2 hours.

Any tips or advice please.

You need to give her somewhere of her own where you can put her - not just when visitors come, use it to feed her in and for her to rest in - either a crate or space in a room sectioned off. It must not be used for punishment or for long periods, but must be somewhere she wants to go for 'time out'. Bones, treats, toys etc. should be in there and feed her in it. At seven months I am not surprised she doesn't want to be shut away in the kitchen or out in the garden, she needs company and wants to play. If you know the family are coming make sure she has had a good walk beforehand and a play for a while with her toys. Put her on a lead when they arrive and let her meet them with you in control. Is she a Staff by any chance? How much exercise does she get normally? At seven months you can now start to extend the walking exercise but don't overdo it if she is a big breed. Do you take her to training classes? If not sign up for one - they will show you how to teach her to behave, to sit or lie down when you want her to and it is a great way for her to mix with other dogs. It also tires them out mentally - mine sleep well after classes and they go just for a night out now.

i agree with classes - they are fantastic.
In my opinion, you need to get visitors to ignore her, turn their backs, cross their arms and not interract with her when she is jumping up and down at them. Then when she sits down or leaves them alone, treat her (either with food treats or a game) you may need to do this several times before she realises that she gets rewarded for NOT jumping up, and if she jumps up she is not getting any attention (remember that to puppies, shouting and hauling them off is attention, which is what they want) It needs to be consistent with all visitors (if you have people round you can't prime beforehand, then put her out of the way when they come) and with you too - whenever you come in, don't make a fuss of her till she stops jumping up etc - just turn your back on her, cross your arms, ignore her, then make a fuss of her when she ignores you/calms down/sits
