Is it unusual for a dog not to have an undercoat or are there a number of breeds like that?

Thanks.

Aw thanks slinky and pasta!
This is what the skinny wee minx was like shortly after we rescued her.

I have a second rescue girl now too (Lola) who is as much of a mystery as Belle!
Think Pasta might be right there about Bella having a bit of JRT in her, in fact I met a couple months ago out on a walk with a dog they swore was a Jack and it looked very similar to Bella with that sort of wispy hair!

Pasta - her nose is actually more pink than chocolate. And although it looks quite hairy in the pic, I have to put sun cream on it on sunny days cause it gets sunburnt!

Sir Alec - Yes she was looking at me. She fell in love with me as quickly as I did with her. I hadn't planned to get another dog after our last big rescue girl died but one day we parked in front of the shelter to drop off a donation. I made a point of not going in but the way we had parked meant that I had view of the corner of one of the stinking rescue kennels. I saw this skinny, bald, scared, sick dog and had to go and be with her.
Shortly after she was ours! She had really bad kennel cough, was really starved, hadn't much hair, and her wee paws were raw from all the urine she was walking through in the pound.
She is a much healthier and happier girl now and I love, love, love her!
What a heart-warming story, shivvy. She has finally had some good luck in finding you! God Bless her!
