Human and pet bond stories

Hi all, I have just embarked on a 16 week training course to become a volunteer pet bereavement counsellor for the Blue Cross and need to produce a personal portfolio. Can anyone tell me or point me in the direction of some good human/pet bond stories, anything from mice through exotic pets. Many thanks!

If you google the PetPlan quarterly magazine, they have some good stories in there, particularly animals which have been trained to become help-dogs etc

The PDSA have a medal that they give to heroic hounds - their site might be a good starting point.

Maybe Guide Dogs for the blind, hearing dogs, assistance dogs etc - they should all have their own websites.
