White cat owner? Oh the hair!
I adopted a 9 year old cat from Cat's Protection in March. He's all white coloured. He's been shedding a lot of hair which I assume is due to higher temperatures in the summer months. Today I brushed him over with his Zoom Groom brush and the amount of hair that came from him was unbelievable! A massive handful at least! I brushed for ages and it just kept coming! Of course he loves being brushed so was quite happy with it. Do other coloured cats shed so much hair? Is it just because you can't, for example, notice a dark cats hair on clothes, furniture and carpets as much? Do white cats have MORE hair than other coloured cat's. My questions are endless! Tell me everything you know about white cats please!

So thankfully the risk of sunburn isn't strong. He doesn't even go near the windows which I find strange! Most cats sit on the sill having a nosy at the world. My cat's favourite place is a cardboard box - even though he has a comfy cat bed!
I have a tabby and white cat, a sort of beige coloured dog and a skewbald horse. In all cases the paler hairs show up on dark surfaces and the darker ones on pale surfaces. I used to have a long-haired tortoiseshell and white cat and for a long time after she died I kept finding her hair on my clothes in the wardrobe.
Caspar is semi long-haired and white...and deaf as a gate post. No blue eyes though.
He sheds for England. Last year he developed cat acne, and lost a lot of fur...now he is making up for it by leaving huge wads of fur wherever he goes. Not on the bed,thankfully-but on any other fabric surface...oh-and also on the kitchen worksurfaces...yuchhh.
Sally-my lurcher-is also mostly white....so I am doomed...
