Parrot toilet training?

Is it possible to toilet train a parrot? I adopted my red cheeked conure a year ago, and he's wonderful. The only trouble is, when he "poos" he directs it out of the cage by lifting his bum to the bars and spraying it all over the room.(It can travel 8 feet!)
Is it possible to train him to do it in a particular area of his cage to make it easier to clean out. At the moment I have to clean and disinfect carpets and soft furnishings every day........

Thanks, Juliet . (and Albert the parrot)

Sounds as if he is toilet trained. He doesn't want to mess his house.
You parrot is treating the cage as a nest so it is avoiding soiling it. You need to either find a way of catching the poo or train it to poo when it is another room.
I don't know about when it is in the cage. They can certainly be trained to poo when out of the cage by stimulating the backside with a tissue.

btw Why does it spray? What do you feed it? It should be a solid dropping.
