My dog is wormed and fleaed religiously. However, she is scratching herself on her back, and itching her bottom on the floor. Do you think it is an allergic reaction, and are any other dogs doing this at the moment due to the time of year etc?!!! Many thanks for your help!

I don't have a dog but our cat is allergic to the flea treatment that is given at the back of the neck, she scratched herself red raw so its possible that she is allergic to something if not both
Everyone I know who has a dog says there is a real problem with fleas this year - and if the dog is bottoming along the floor, you need to check for worms - pop her along to the vet, just in case.
Sounds to me like her anal glands might be blocked, a dog dragging its bottom along the floor and itching are classic signs. Your vet will be able to unblock them if there is a problem.
^^ Agree
I think its anal glands too but for the flea ridden among us, this is supposed to be the business

you need to treat the house as well.
Thirded.... Quick trip to the vet may be needed.

Those are classic signs of anal glands needing emptying. If you have a dog groomer near you they would probably be cheaper than the vet.
