I have lost my greatest friend today and I am heartbroken. She was 13 and so scruffy but she was a joy and I don't know what to do without her.

very sorry flump, these threads are always heartbreaking, until AB I never realised how many people feel the exact same way when they lose a pet.

So sorry to read this, thinking of you. xx
Flump, I am so sorry, I dread seeing these posts, but am always touched by the lovely comments other caring people write in response. She was obviously much loved and to get to 13 must have lived a long, happy and wonderful life in your household!
Big hugs, I know what you are going through, but it will get better in time.
Sue
oh poor flump so sorry for you xxx

Thank you all for your messages of support and lovely words. I am still in bits.
I know how you feel flump and I share your pain. A house can be so empty when a beloved pet dies. She was loved and that's all that matters, isn't it .... x

She was indeed, maybe even a little spoilt. I am having trouble at the mo. She was a big big part of my life. xx
sorry flump x
Don't we all spoil them.....

As long as she is in your heart, she'll always be there, flumpy. So, like a person, focusing on those good memories is a way to help counter the loss of her not being there.
Sorry for your loss. You are suffering a bereavement so give your self some tlc and time.
They do become such a part of the family dont they xx
flump I lost Tara (the love of my life) ten years ago this year and the pain can still be raw. They leave such a gap behind when they're gone. What helped me (a little) was that books have been written on the subject of pet bereavement and reading them makes you realise just how much you are NOT alone and just how many people feel exactly as you do. In one book I read, one lady went out into her garden and shouted up to the heavens "give me my dog back!!" Another wanted to go out to the garden and dig her recently buried dog back up - both of these I could relate to. If you google Pet Bereavement books, I'm sure you'll come up with something that you can read and help you through it. Virginia Ironside wrote a great one called Goodbye Dear Friend. I really, really, really do know how you feel flump - take care x
So sorry for your loss. My doggy is also 13yrs and I dread the dag
My sympathies. Truly. I've been pack leader to 9 'best friends' and two are still with me 5 and 9 yr old collies.

Tell me her name so I might mourn her too?

IHI
I've said this before - a lot of us have been there and really do know how you feel - nothing anyone can say so am sending cyber hugs
